       The purpose of Montessori Christian Schoolhouse is to awaken the sense of wonder in each child; to provide experiences and tools that allow the children the freedom to observe, think, create, and draw their own conclusions.
        Our program strives to meet the needs of the total child; physical, mental, and spiritual. Our respect for the children nurtures a positive self-image within them, giving them the self-confidence to fulfill their God-given potential. We seek to develop spiritual values and a reverance for all life.





        In a Montessori classroom, the teacher is called a directress because she directs the child to the materials that are in the class. The directress is a perceiver of the child's needs, a perparer of the environment, and a programmer with the materials and lessons. Children may work on different tasks at the same time or the same task at different times. All children are different from each other and need the opportunity to work on their own level and at their own pace; therefore, each child has their individualized education plan.
        The directress at Montessori Christian Schoolhouse at CBC is Sandra Ussery. She has been in a Montessori class for twenty seven years. Sandra received her Montessori training from Dr. Elizabeth Caspari, who lived with and was trained by Dr. Maria Montessori, the founder of the Montessori Education.
